Support
I'm Jeff, the person behind RiffList. If something isn't working or you have a question, email me below. I do my best to help, but replies may take a little while.
Help, bugs, and reports
Privacy and data requests
Reporting something in a list
Open a riff's details and choose Report riff or Report comment. To report a person, open People and choose Report beside their name. Pick a reason and add a note if you want. For other problems, use List options > Report problem or email support@rifflist.app.
Reports go privately to RiffList for review. Other members cannot read your report. Include what happened and any safety concern. For a follow-up or a question about a moderation action, email support@rifflist.app.
Blocking someone
Open People, choose Block beside the person, then review Block and leave. You can also choose it after sending a report. It leaves the lists you share with that person; your contributions stay. If you own a list with just that person, the list ends and its history stays.
A block prevents either account from joining a list the other already belongs to. Blocking does not remove the other person from their lists. Your blocked-members list is private, and no block notification is sent. Manage it in Profile > Account > Blocked members. Unblocking does not rejoin any lists.
Deleting your account
If you do not see Delete account in your account settings, email privacy@rifflist.app for help with account deletion.
Open Profile > Account > Delete account. Review the choices and the lists you host, type DELETE, then confirm your sign-in. Deletion continues on the server after the request is accepted. The app shows its progress and confirms when it is complete.
By default, your contributions stay in shared lists: riffs, corrections, comments, ranking picks, reactions and challenges, under a new deleted-member name in each list. Private picks stay private. People may still recognize your writing.
Uncheck that option to remove your contributions. Numbered riff positions remain as empty placeholders, and other people's contributions stay. For trouble deleting or another privacy question, email privacy@rifflist.app.
Invite links and joining
An invite link opens a page with the list title and a sign-in button. Sign in with Apple or Google, pick a username if you are new, read any house rules the owner wrote, and join. If the owner approves members, you will see that you are waiting. Inside the app you can also tap the plus button and choose Join with link or code.
If a link does not work, ask the person who sent it to open the list, go to People, and send you the link again. Links do not expire, but a list that has ended or is full (100 people) cannot be joined.
Signing in
RiffList uses Apple or Google sign-in. Other players see only your RiffList username. Your name and email are not shown to them. If sign-in gets stuck in a browser, close the tab and open rifflist.app again. Some private-browsing modes and in-app browsers block the sign-in window; try opening the link in Safari or Chrome instead.
Turn alerts
Turn alerts are optional. On an iPhone or iPad in a browser, add RiffList to your Home Screen first (open the link in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen), then turn alerts on in Settings. In other browsers, turn them on in Settings directly. Turn them off any time in Settings or in your device's notification settings.
Accessibility
If something in RiffList does not work with your screen reader, text size, or other assistive technology, email support@rifflist.app and say what you were trying to do and what device you were using. I treat these like any other bug report.
